Multimedia Contest

Now through January 10, 2025, Artists and writers will take their inspiration from the Civil Rights Movement, focusing on equality and acceptance to create a submission with the contest theme: "A Place for All People."

March on Main Street

The March on Main Street is scheduled for January 19th. Meet at the Kroger/ACE parking lot by 12:30pm to gather and begin a meaningful walk to the SHAC. Refreshments will be served, contest winners will be announced and entertainment will be provided.

Children's Book Mission

We at HV MLK Day feel there is no better way to celebrate 20 years of giving to our communities, in 2025, than by operating at a grassroots level: helping children learn.

Film Appreciation Night

The Film Appreciation Night will be held in January 13, 2025, 7pm,, at the Milford Cinema. The film and guest speaker is currently being scheduled. Watch here and on Facebook for details.

Meal Drive & Assembly

The Meal Drive begins January 2nd, asking community members to purchase and donate specific non-perishable soup ingredients for local families in need. We then comes together to assemble meals on January 20th, 5-8pm at the SHAC.

Smithsonian Poster Exhibit

The poster exhibition is an opportunity for Huron Valley MLK Day to showcase its work in sharing the many stories of African American and African diaspora people and their contributions to the local community and the American story.
